A fume cupboards plays a very important role in a laboratory as it protects operators from harmful substances.

 

A typical laboratory uses a fume extraction system to pull air from inside the room through the open fume cupboard sash and pull in hazardous and dangerous gases with it. The contaminated air is then expelled and filtered for re-circulation.
